ol is an antioxidant that can be found in various things. Products containing resveratrol are very good for the human body. It is most commonly found in red wine, and was first discovered to be found there in 1992. Although, resveratrol was first officially discovered in 1963 in an Asian folk medicine called ko-jo-kon. Needless to say, several health benefits have been linked to resveratrol.

One health benefit that has been found in relation to resveratrol is it's ability to fight off free radicals. Over time, free radicals can start to accumulate in excess inside of the body. A certain amount of free radicals are okay, but it is when they start to build up that it becomes a problem. Too many free radicals can result in illness. It is their nature to damage all cellular macromolecules and DNA when too many are present. Cancer and high cholesterol are just two of the negative things that can happen. Cancer is oftentimes a fatal disease with no cure, and high cholesterol usually ends up causing heart disease - which can also be very fatal.

People can accumulate an excess of free radicals because of a number of things. Some of the outside sources that have been though to create a buildup of free radicals are cigarette smoke, the ozone, radiation, ultra violet light, drugs, pesticides, anesthetics, and environmental pollutants.

When the body does not produce enough of it's own natural antioxidants, oxidative stress can often be the result. Free radicals cause damage to all of the cells of the body, including the skin cells. Resveratrol is also being used to reverse aging and has been proven to be one of the best anti-aging agents thus far.

Stress is also another big contributing factor toward the development of disease. When a person is under stress, it shows in a very noticeable way. Premature aging is becoming more and more common. When you notice too many wrinkles on a person's face, that is when you know that more damage is going on inside of their body. Stress also puts extra force on all of the important organs in the body including the heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs. It may not be evident in the beginning, but eventually, stress can cause fatal problems with the body's major organs.

Unfortunately, many of the things that cause an accumulation of free radicals and stress are completely unavoidable. To live a life free of worry and stress is something that is rarely achieved. However, peace of mind is something that is very possible. If you can create a healthy balance of antioxidants inside of your body, you can put your mind at ease about the possible cellular destruction that may be occurring. Resveratrol has been proven to help with that.
