Honda Siel Cars India, leading car manufacturer, has recently introduced the all new Honda City for the Indian market. The car with a completely new design, engine and variety of features was unveiled by Takeo Fukui, president and CEO of Honda Motor Company, Japan.
Body and Structure
The new car is complete package of style, performance, and elegance. It is beautifully crafted with a unique ‘Arrow Shot Form’ design that gives the car an imposing presence on streets. The streamlined grill, sharp headlights, aerodynamic rear combination, extended wheelbase, and a rainbow of colours add to the glory of distinctive and impressive road presence.
The new Honda City is 5 mm longer and 5 mm wider than its predecessor. Though the length and width have increased, the height has been lowered by 15 mm to 1480 mm, maintaining the ground and head clearance. The extended wheelbase of the car adds additional space to the car interiors to make the ride more comfortable for both the driver and the occupants.
Interiors
Apart from having impressive and exciting exteriors, the new car is adorned with variety of interior features comprising advanced meter design, heart touching colour contrasts, advanced safety features, and an integrated audio system. The advanced safety features equipped in the new City comprise ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with Brake Assist (BA), pre-tensioner seat belts, Dual SRS airbags, and G-CON (G-Force Control Technology) body with a crush-proof survival zone.
The integrated audio system is the world’s first car audio system exclusive to digital media. This system offers connectivity to iPOD, USB Memory, MP3player, cell phone with MP3 Player. High quality sound and advanced functionalities add to the uniqueness and effectiveness of this car audio system.
Engine and Performance
Apart from having all these extra-ordinary features, the new City is also equipped with a powerful and refined i-VTEC engine that delivers power of 118PS and decent fuel economy. With this new version of Honda City, the company has also worked on reducing impact on the environment. The new engine that propels the new City is compliant to E10 and has Euro IV emission levels.
The new car is believed to be the only car in its segment that offers 5 speed automatic transmission with a ‘paddle shift’. This offers a better driving experience and good road handling.
Variants and Price
The third generation Honda City is available in two grades 1.5E and 1.5S, former available with automatic transmission whereas the later with both automatic and manual transmissions. The car is available in a price range of Rs 7.7 lakh to Rs 8.9 lakh.
