MuscleMaster.com, Inc has recalled 17 dietary supplements because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says they believe the products contain ingredients that are steroids. This is not the first time the MuscleMaster.com has had problems with the FDA. In 2004 the FDA seized products from the company that contained ephedra due to allegedly unsubstantiated health claims about the products on its website.

Ingredients That May Be Steroids

According to the FDA, the recalled dietary supplements may contain ingredients which are either currently classified as steroids or which it believes should be classified as steroids. These ingredients are:

Superdrol Madol Tren Androstenedione Turinabol

Androstenedione and Turinabol are legally classified as steroids. The FDA believes that Superdrol, Madol, and Tren should also be classified as steroids, but does not have the authority to make that classification.

Undeclared anabolic steroids in supplements marketed to bodybuilders are not a new or uncommon problem. They are effective for building muscle, but can cause life-threatening liver problems.

Recalled MuscleMaster.com Products

MuscleMaster.com sells supplements online. It does not manufacture the supplements. The recalled supplements are:

Advanced Muscle Science Dienedrone Advanced Muscle Science Liquidrone Anabolic Formulation M1, 4AD Anabolic Formulations 1, 4 AD Anabolic Xtreme Hyperdrol X2 Anabolic Xtreme 3-AD BCS Labs Testra-Flex Competitive Edge Labs M-Drol Competitive Edge Labs P-Plex Competitive Edge Labs X-Tren 4Ever Fit D-Drol Gaspari Novedex XT Gaspari Halodrol Liquigels iForce 1,4 AD BOLD 200 iForce MethaDROL iForce Dymethazine Monster Caps

MuscleMaster.com says that the recall is a precautionary measure in cooperation with the FDA, that it cannot confirm the presence of the steroid ingredients in its products and that the recall should not be construed as an admission of selling illegal products.

If you have any of the recalled supplements you should not take them. You can return the unused portion to MuscleMaster.com for a refund.

The Danger of Steroid Use

Anabolic steroids can cause acute liver damage as well as long-term health problems. Side effects of anabolic steroid use can include:

Aggression, commonly referred to as “roid rage” Gynecomastia, male breasts Sexual dysfunction and infertility in men Excessive body hair in women Birth defects Stunted growth in children Heart disease Liver damage Stroke
