The largest island in the Ogasawara archipelago

Micronesian people lived on my island in the past
The Tokugawa Shogunate I dispatched

As he proceeded to lay claim to the Island for
The United States for a coaling station for steamships
Apart from the above expedition
Naturalist William Stimpson
Of the Rodgers-Ringgold
North Pacific Exploring and Surveying Expedition
Came in 1854
A good stopover station for whalers due to its natural springs
An Island first settled by thirty-six year old Massachusetts native
Nathaniel Savory in May 1830
Along with twenty-two other men and women from Pearl Harbor
Later appointed an agent of the US navy
And Leader, governing council
Present-day Chichi-Jima, dominated by
Descendants of Nathaniel Savory
January 17th, 1862, a Tokugawa Shogunate ship
Entered a harbor at Chichi-Jima
And officially proclaimed
The Sovereignty of the Ozasawara Island
Chichi-Jima of grand Japan
My island saw Japanese Immigrants
Introduced from Hachijojima
Under the direction of the Tokugawa Shogunate to stay
Allowing just forty members of Savory colony
A site for long range Japanese Radio stations
