It looks like Dancing with the Stars bears out its reputation as a makeover vehicle for celebrities who are seeking various ways to rejuvenate and reinstate themselves in the limelight. The newest addition to the "has been" celebrities that have been graced with the program’s healing powers is none other than former teen heartthrob Joey Lawrence. According to TV Guide, Lawrence got an acting gig on a forthcoming episode of CSI: NY.
The upcoming episode, which is entitled Past Imperfect, will showcase Lawrence as a killer named Clay Dobson. Filming this episode is especially memorable for Lawrence since he has never done anything like it before in terms of portraying the character and getting involved in a different kind of fight scene. He told TV Guide, "They had like 15 cameras up there, and we had to shoot all the fight sequences in one day. It was really incredible.
It took us like three hours to set up one shot that lasted, like, 10 seconds. But it was a good time, and it's going to set up a good cliffhanger for the end of the season. It's good for Gary, too, because Mac ends up in some hot water." Past Imperfect is scheduled to air on April 25, 2007 at 10 pm on CBS.
Meanwhile, the actor credits a lot of his positive exposure on his inclusion on Dancing with the Stars season three. In fact, if asked to appear again on the show, he would most likely accept the invitation.
Lawrence, a 30-year old native of Abington, Pennsylvania, was best known for his inclusion on the television show Blossom. His TV credits included Gimme a Break!, American Dreams, Brotherly Love, Run of the House, Who’s the Boss, and Adventures in Babysitting. He also graced the movie world with films like Do You Wanna Know A Secret, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber and Tequila Body Shots among others. In the wake of his success as a teenage heartthrob, he recorded and released his debut album entitled Joey Lawrence, in 1993. He joined the popular celebrity dance competition Dancing with the Stars in 2006 and ranked third place with professional dance partner Edyta Sliwinska.
