Here is a very easy elementary science fair project that any kid can do very easily. Elementary science fair projects must be fun to do and a small kid must be able to see what happens in a relatively short time otherwise they lose interest.

In this, one of our easy elementary science fair projects, we are going to have a look at the moisture in soil. It is important as no plant life can exist without water in the soil it is growing in.

What you will need for this elementary science fair project:

Some garden soil Some dry sand Two sheet of glass (as from a photo frame) Two coffee cans Some black construction paper Sticky tape Stickers A pen to take notes with A note pad A camera to take photos for your display

How to do your experiment:

Fill one coffee can with the garden soil and fill the other with the dry sand. The dry sand will be your control (do you know what a control is?) Cover both cans very well with the black construction paper Mark the two cans very clearly "garden soil" and "dry sand" Place the glass over the top of both of the cans Now you have to place them in a sunny spot or against a radiator for about one hour After the hour lift the glass off the cans, make notes of what you see and take your photos for your display You can also use a third completely dry coffee can as a further control Which tin has the most drops of water on the glass? Why do you think it is? Do you think the climate and the time of the year plays a role in the amount of water drops on the glass?

As you can see, this is really one of our easy elementary science fair projects that all kids will love as you see the results so soon before the boredom sets in.
