Electromagnetic Energy; this big phrase seems complicated enough, but added with the descriptions it becomes even more intense to understand. This extremely complicated concept, discovered by physicists is one that few people can grasp and even fewer people look towards as any sort of solution. Even though it is through Electromagnetic Energy that solar power travels and becomes a part of our lives as an alternative energy source.
Electromagnetic Energy is the transfer of energy through electromagnetic waves as they pass through the atmosphere and are absorbed by whatever they hit. Examples of Electromagnetic Energy being passed through waves are: X rays, microwaves, Gamma waves, and even light are examples of Electromagnetic waves that transfer Electromagnetic Energy. Although we are not yet able to harness Electromagnetic Energy, in any form except the form of light in solar panels, to be able to harness such power that is all around us would be a phenomenal breakthrough. Although we are not yet able to harness Electromagnetic Energy on a large scale besides solar and microwave, it does however radiate from all objects above -273 degrees Celsius, or absolute zero on the Kelvin scale. Electromagnetic Energy is an endless supply of energy that, as long as the source, any source of light, exists. People are currently able to measure the amount of Electromagnetic Energy is around them by measuring the waves in which it travels and the properties of those waves.
This Electromagnetic Energy is the most abundant form of energy there is. It can be harnessed constantly and in large quantities, but the affects are not all yet totally known of this energy. X rays for example are very dangerous in large quantities and have been known to kill people, microwaves have similarly been known for several negative effects. Luckily science has but scratched the surface of the possibilities with waves and in the near future should very easily form ways of making these waves much more productive and helpful to us. Until then we just need to have hope!
