Cosmic dust is composed of particles in space which are a few molecules to 0.1 mm in size. Cosmic dust can be further distinguished by its astronomical location. We have more than just a vanilla cosmic dust! There's intergalactic dust, interstellar dust (potentially concentrated in a nebula), interplanetary dust (such as in a circumstellar disk) and circumplanetary dust (such as in a planetary ring). Stardust are particles of matter that fall from the stars down to Earth. And then there's the interplanetary spacecraft, whose primary purpose was to investigate the makeup of the comet Wild 2.
And this has what to do with 2012?
In August of 2003, the spacecrft, Ulysses (a robotic space probe) reported back to earth some unusual information. The spacecraft which was launched in 1990 to study the Sun at all latitudes detected a three-fold increase of stardust flowing through the solar system. There is usually some small increase after a maximum solar activity period wherein the magnetic field of the sun is weakened, but this was strange.
The Suns magnetic field is usually a buffer and a defense against such cosmic dust.
Scientists have since discovered that he Suns magnetic poles have rotated halfway, not flipping entirely and laying some place close to the Sun's equator. This weaker configuration of the magnetic shield was allowing more cosmic dust into our neighborhood. Not good. Not good at all. It's being projected that we could see as much as a ten fold increase in stardust by the end of cycle 24....of course that would be in 2102!
There is so much going on OUT THERE that we have no clue about, nor do we seem to be interested- unles you work for NASA of course; however, it's about time we awakened to that which gives us life because it can also give us death- that would be the Sun!
As a spiritual-futurist, I interpret current events in light of possible macro-universal forces at play leading up to 2012, but not limited to it.
