When it comes to going to the bars, expect to hear some not so satisfying music. At the same time they are probably overplaying the number one pop hit that you blast every time you hear it on the radio. Here are the top ten pop bar songs that you probably heard on the same old bar stool in the same old bars.

1. Black Eyed Peas- “Boom Boom Pow”

This good looking pop sensation group is infamous for their bar songs. After a four year break this song was one of the most ranked singles of the year. There is no group more exotically fun the Black Eyed Peas.

2. Beyonce- “Halo”

“Halo” is a love song for all ages. Though it made a smaller climb to the top of the charts this song was definitely overplayed at the bars.

3. Lady GaGa- “Poker Face”

Although it was her second single, “Poker Face” is the song that made us all recognize Lady GaGa as a dance-pop superstar. The electronic dominance of this song took over the bars and became the exotic sound of early 2009.

4. 3OH!3- “Don’t Trust Me”

A bratty, male duo emerged from nowhere in 2009 giving us “Don’t Trust Me,” a tale of the “girl alone at the bar” and vocalizes crazy things like “do the Helen Keller.” The chorus near the end proves to be polarizing for all ears at the bars.

5. Lily Allen- “The Fear”

This song chopped the US dance chart with ease this year. It follows the paranoid thoughts of a star entering the world of celebrity and although it didn’t top the charts in the U.S., it was still blasting in the bars.

6. Jordan Sparks- “Battlefield”

This has got to be the ultimate ballad that seals Jordan Sparks as a serious pop superstar. This song was definitely one of the most played bar songs of 2009.

7. The Ting Tings- “That’s Not My Name”

This was a popular hit in the UK bars during 2008 and after an amazing promotional effort and a successful concert tour it finally made its way into the nightly playlist of most American bars.

8. Katy Perry- “Walking Up in Vegas”

This might be Katy Perry’s best single yet. This humorous vocal tale of being stuck in the city is sin is one of the most colorful, most played songs you’ll hear at the bars.

9. The Script- “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”

This fairly overlooked single from early 2009 was actually quite popular in the pubs this year. This Irish band has a wistful, poppy image that provided your ears with one of the best singles of the year.

10. Kelly Clarkson- “My Life Would Suck Without You.”

This song may sound a little too similar to “Since You Been Gone part Two” but at any rate, you’ve probably heard it in the bars as it has been recognized as a perfect little piece of pop froth.
