Free radicals are molecules or ions that have unpaired electrons. These atoms or molecules do not have an even number of electrons which makes them highly reactive and unstable. In order to stabilize themselves, free radicals steal electrons from other molecules that are nearby. As this new molecule is now missing an electron, another free radical is formed and so forth. When this chain reaction occurs in a human body it causes cell degeneration, tissue damage and a variety of other diseases. Scientists agree that free radicals in the body are also responsible for the aging process.
So how are free radicals formed? Some are created through our own metabolism when creating nutrients for the body. Others are created through factors such as cigarette smoking, environmental pollution, pesticides, and herbicides in our food, exposure to radiation, industrial products, and exposure to toxic chemicals, inhaling poisonous fumes or by water contaminants. But not all free radicals are destructive. Some are used by our immune system to fight off infections and alien bacteria, which would otherwise have caused permanent damage. Nonetheless excessive and uncontrolled quantities of free radicals in the body are detrimental to health. Some believe that free radicals play an important role in certain types of cancer and heart diseases.
Anti-oxidants act as antidotes to free radicals. These are natural compounds that protect the body against harmful free radicals. The four major antioxidant nutrients are Vitamin A (beta carotene), Vitamin C, Vitamin E and selenium. A high intake of anti-oxidation nutrients protects against many diseases particularly cancer. A balanced healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetable and sprouted grains contains a significant amount of Anti-oxidants. However these natural anti oxidants are insufficient to hold back the excessive amounts of free radicals in the body caused by all the environmental toxins. Some people use Anti-oxidation supplements. These are vitamin supplements, mostly in a powdered form, which people take to reduce free radicals in their body. Almost every local health store carries anti-oxidant supplements. However many people question the use of such supplements and the effectiveness of such dry powdered nutrients.
The most efficient anti-oxidant available is Alkaline water. Drinking alkaline water is the best way for anti-oxidants to flood to your entire body. Alkaline water has been ionized through a water ionizer. Ionized water contains thousands of free electrons that bind with the unpaired electrons of free radicals making them stable and harmless. This stops the chain reaction as the molecules in the alkaline water can retain stability under many different conditions. Alkaline water is nature’s best anti-oxidant. It enables a person to eat an unbalanced diet without fruits and vegetables, and still retain a healthy amount of anti-oxidants in your body. Alkaline water not only normalizes the free radicals in the body but also helps the body to rid itself of toxins.
Alkaline water is known to help conditions such as eczema, psoriasis. It helps during fungal diseases, headaches, high blood pressure, burn wounds, acne, rashes, insect bites, gall stones, kidney stones. It can help lower the effects of cancer treatment, and help with osteoporosis and arthritis. Everyday more and more people are using alkaline water producing water ionizers as their quick source for active anti-oxidants.
A high quality alkaline water ionizer first removes the contaminants in the tap water. The filtered water then passes through an electrolysis chamber. It’s inside this chamber where the water gains an excess amount of electrons producing an unlimited amount of anti-oxidants that ultimately help to eliminate harmful free radicals in our body.
